IKEA: Life Improvement Project

role: Creative Director
design/illustration: Peter Hahn
copy: JonMichael DaVirro
awards: DMA ECHO - Bronze in Retail/Direct Sales for Consumer

IKEA's Life Improvement Project asked the community at large to share the things they did to improve their lives at home, get inspired by ideas, and pick up some tips. To motivate participation, small rewards were given out weekly and monthly. Also, whenever a new project is submitted or shared, a dollar is donated to Save the Children's Early Steps to School Success (up to $50,000). The projects are all showcased in a never ending, upward (expanding) scrolling house. We used the illustrative style of IKEA's well known instruction manuals as a starting point for the look and feel of the experience. This was also the place that housed and featured some of IKEA's other community driven initiatives.
